What Is A Haul?
For those of you who aren't familiar with the word 'haul', which I wasn't before I starting reading blogs and watching video blogs on YouTube, a haul is basically a post showing many items at one time. For example, many beauty gurus on YouTube will do a haul based on products that they have purchased in one shopping trip. Personally I love watching haul videos and reading haul posts, maybe i'm just nosey!
I ordered the products on the official Amie Skincare website http://amieskincare.com/ and I have to say I am very impressed with their service! It's so easy to order and everything comes wrapped up in bright pink tissue paper with a sticker to secure it in place, how nice?
My Order
Clockwise from left: Spring Clean, Bright Eyes, Morning Clear, Morning Dew, New Leaf, New Bloom |
Spring Clean
Spring Clean is face mask that is to be applied to the T-Zone (forehead, nose and chin) and smells exactly like lime jelly beans! It contains white clay, lime butter and organic peppermint which leaves a lovely cooling effect on the skin. I apply this to my face after a shower as my pores are open, allowing the product to work on any clogged pores deep within the skin. I then leave this on for 10-15 minutes or until it has completely dried on my skin. I then remove the mask using a Liz Earle muslin cloth and warm water and am left with glowing skin that feels really clean and soothed! This retails on the website at £4.95.
Bright Eyes
Bright eyes is a liquid make-up remover containing chamomile and cucumber to soothe the eye area as it removes any traces of make-up from the eyes. I apply a small amount of this liquid remover onto two cotton pads and press gently onto my eyelids for a few seconds to loosen any mascara and then gently rub in circular motions until all residue has been removed. This works brilliantly on the mascara that I use, which is Maybelline The Falsies. However, as I do not like using waterproof mascara I cant comment on how well it removes waterproofs! I should also mention that you need a very small amount as although the formulation is very gentle, overloading the cotton pads can make your eyes sting a bit. This retails on the website at £4.75.
Due to the value of my order I was eligible for a free full size gift which was another Bright Eyes which I gave to my sister to try and she loves it too!
Morning Clear
If you have been following my blog from the start you will know that my very first post was on the Morning Clear face wash. I wont say too much about it in this post as you can read an in-depth review and a little bit about Amie as a brand here, but I have re-purchased this facial wash over and over as its so gentle, non-drying and keeps spots away! This retails on the website at £4.95.
Morning Dew
Morning Dew is a matt finish facial moistuiser and is one of the first Amie purchases that I made. It reminds me of secondary school which shows just how long I have been using it! I have used different facial moisturisers in the meantime but this is definitely my favorite. It contains organic rosehip, bilberry, lemon and orange blossom and it smells absolutely amazing! I apply this all over my face and being oil free it hydrates my skin leaving it soft without clogging pores. This retails on the website at £4.95.
New Leaf
New Leaf is a facial exfoliating polish containing mango seed butter and jojoba beads which remove dead skin cells and when applied in circular motions stimulates blood flow, leaving a healthy and glowing complexion, who doesn't want that right!? I use this a few times a week in the shower to clean out pores and to help eliminate blackheads. The exfoliating beads aren't too abrasive so I still recommend this if you have dry/sensitive skin that doesn't suffer from breakouts, but maybe limit to only using it once a week or every so often and don't use too much pressure on application. This retails on the website at £4.95.
New Bloom
New Bloom facial wipes are a fairly recent addition to the Amie range and although I had a perfectly good pack of Simple face wipes in my bathroom I really wanted to try these and I loved the packing too much not too! These remove any traces of make-up really well however i'm not crazy about the smell as they don't really smell of anything! I thought they would as all the other products smell so good! I suppose it shows that they are better for your skin than most facial wipes as these contain natural extracts such as cranberry, green tea and pomegranate. These retail on the website at £3.49.
As I was looking up the prices for the products on the website I came across this beauty!
Obviously a new addition to the range that I have missed! This is a spot clearing gel containing 96.5% natural ingredients and is retailing at £4.95. I might have to give this a try!
