Herbal Tea
One of the things that i decided to buy in May was herbal/fruit tea. This is mainly because being back from uni has meant i am eating far more than i do while i am not living at home. I'm not the best cook and find it really boring so tend to not eat all that well while I'm at uni. Being back for the summer however has meant i am eating a lot better in terms of main meals in the evening with lots of meat and veg but i am also eating alot more chocolate and sweets and things and have been feeling a bit 'blaghh' and unhealthy because of it so i have been trying to drink these teas to give me a bit of a boost.
I got the Echinacea & Raspberry one which is nice and fruity and echinacea is really good for boosting the immune system. It says on the packet that this is good to drink when you are not feeling your best. I also got the Detox one which includes lemon peel, lemon myrtle and milk thistle which are properties thought to detoxify the body. Lastly i got the Peppermint one which i have loved for quite a few years and is really refreshing and peppermint is thought to aid digestion and the packet says it's perfect just after a meal.
I am still drinking these this month and i do actually like the taste of them and enjoy drinking them so if you wanted to get into drinking these kinds of teas i really recommend these flavours as a starting point!
Aussie Shampoo and Conditioner
In May i purchased the Aussie Miracle Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. If you have read my Mid-Week Pamper Routine post you'll know that i tried out a small sachet of the Miracle Shine Hair Mask which i loved the smell of (it's amazing) and how it worked so thought i would go out and buy the full size. However i found out that Aussie did a shampoo and conditioner with the same scent so i decided to get them instead as i thought I'd rather be able to have the smell in my hair every day than just once or twice a week.
The combination of these two products leave my hair feeling so soft and it really does create a 'miracle shine' which is noticeable on the hair and stops my hair from looking dull which it can do every so often. I have recently had my hair pretty much all chopped off into a graduated bob and these products now make my hair even more shiny as i don't have any horrible split ends to make it look dull. So i am now loving these products even more! This is what my hair looks like now...
H&M Striped Tops
Two things that i wore quite a bit in May (and still am!) were these striped tops from H&M which cost £7.99 each. These are from the Pima Cotton range which i think is meant to be a high quality range of cotton.
I love these because first of all they are 3/4 length sleeves which i like because being quite small (around 5ft 1) some tops can come up quite long on the arms. I also think they are so easy to wear and i love clothes that you don't really have to think about too much and prefer a simple and classic look rather than all of the clothes that are 'in fashion' as most of them just don't suit me. Just one of these with some blue jeans and brown loafers looks really nice and means you can be dressed in about two minutes and still look good!
Music
The album that i was listening to the most in May was Gabrielle Aplin's debut album 'English Rain'. I love this album so much and also love the title of it, i don't know why! It's just such a nice relaxing album and i have been a fan of Gabrielle for years before she became known so i knew i had to get this as soon as it came out. I think my favourite song on the album is 'Start of Time', its so good! I don't have a photo of the album to show you as i actually listen to this on Spotify! I love Gabrielle's look as well as she's really natural and i love what she wears!
If you haven't already got the album or listened to some of it here is an album sampler from YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=va6vCizo4h4
TV
A TV series that i started watching online in May was 'Girls'. This is so brilliant and isn't your typical American series as it's very 'real' if that makes sense, if you watch it you'll know what i mean! There are no fancy sets or clothes or anything and it's almost like watching a series about you and your friends at times and is really easy to relate to. The character Hannah is so brilliant and funny and makes the show in my opinion.
Each episode is around 30 minutes long and there aren't many episodes in a series so its really watchable but the only bad thing is i watched the whole of the first series in about two days and am currently on the third episode of the second series which i am trying to take my time on!
Here is a short clip that made me fall in love with the series completely! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBb0UQihUZA
Just to say...
If anyone is wondering what the lanterns that have been in the background of most of the photos that i take these are called Love Blind Lanterns that come in a pack of six and come with battery operated tea lights that go into each one. I got these for Christmas one year and don't know where my mum got them from but if you type Love Blind lanterns into Google I'd imagine you would be able to find them online!
Once again thank you for reading! Happy Wednesday x
I love Girls as well!!
